Discovering, Sharing, Growing: Journey Church believes that life is an adventure to be explored and an experience to be lived through Biblical faith. Jesus Himself came to show people just like us how life is meant to be lived. As we become more like Him we discover the purpose for which we were created. We believe that Jesus Christ alone makes our journeys meaningful and purposeful. He alone gives us a destination worth the journey!

11 people baptized

Wow! What a move of God we experienced Sunday morning! Over the past three weeks we have been dealing with the many excuses that we so often use as to why we can’t do or be everything God has called us to do and be. (You can listen to all three sermons on this website – you can also download them, burn a cd and give them to others who need to hear this word). This Sunday was the last of the three week series. It ended with a total of 11 people being baptized – but only 2 of them were scheduled, and I baptized them at the first of the service. The others were the result of a spontaneous move of God.

It all broke loose when a young man sitting toward the back said he wanted God to overtake him, and as he came forward for prayer others began to come for the touch of the Lord. Then another young man who was saved the previous Wednesday night came forward. (No this is not a typing error, he did get saved on Wednesday night – this qualifies a church to proclaim that it is in a true move of God, when people start getting saved on a Wednesday night) This young man said he wanted to be baptized, so back to the baptistry I went again and baptized him.

When I came back to the platform, people were still in the altar, some standing, others kneeling, while others were laid-out in the power of God. Then other people just started coming up wanting to get baptized, so back to the baptistry I went again. We ran out of towels and started using sheets. People were being baptized in the clothes they had worn to church with nothing to change into. This is what happens when the fire of God falls on His people. It doesn’t matter whether you came with clothes to change into or not; it is just total obedience to what God wants to do.

Let me encourage you to let this fire grow and spread throughout your life and family. (FIRE!!!!!) — Pastor Joey
