Connection Groups
You are on the beginning of a new journey as we begin our Journey Church Connection Groups. I want to encourage you to not only attend but invite someone along with you. This is a great opportunity to bring someone that might not come to a regular church service, and it is a great time to get to know the people that you go to church with every week. The Connection Groups will only be successful if you attend. These meetings will be filled with food, fun, fellowship and a time of ministry of the Word and prayer. My family and I will be attending a different group each month to get to know everyone better. You may be wondering what you need to do or bring, so the following should help you with some questions you my have.
- Unless otherwise notified by your Connection Group Leader the meeting will start at 5:00pm.
- Some of the homes will have a swimming pool, so bring appropriate attire.
- You will need to bring food/drink. Your Connection Group Leader may assign people to bring different things or they may do a theme meal and ask you to bring a certain item. Feel free to contact your Connection Group Leader to ask any questions.
- If you bring a friend or family (which is one of the goals of these meetings) you personally need to bring extra food to cover what they will need. We do not want to ask first time attendees to bring food for themselves.
- There will be a time focused on teaching and ministering the Word.
- In this type of home setting we value your input, but ask that you keep it short and to the point so others can share also.
- Please be respectful of your Connection Group Leaders and to others by speaking in turn when recognized by the Connection Group Leader.
- Please refrain from doing any personal ministry to/with someone without first getting permission from the Connection Group Leader.
I am exited about all the new things and relationships that are going to come from these meetings. Acts 20:20 says this: “how I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house,” so have a fun and blessed evening as you get to know and serve those that are your Journey Church Family.
