And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie …
The love of the truth is the Love of Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life. To not walk in the truth is to be overcome with delusion, a delusion that is sent by God and results in believing the lie. We must receive the love of the truth. To receive it means to take hold of it as a personal prized possession for which you are honored to possess and joyful in the knowledge of it’s presence.
John 18:37
“…I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”
In response to this statement by Jesus, Pontius Pilate made a statement that so typifies those who reject the truth, he replied; “What is Truth!” At this moment he knows something is not right, that Jesus did not deserve death, and yet he is compelled to condemn Jesus to the death of the cross. The voice of Christ was drowned out by the voice of the mob.
Romans 1;19-20
…Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Pontius Pilate and the Jews who condemned Christ to the cross were without excuse and so are we. Man rejects what is right because what is right is inconvenient. Put another way, man rejects the truth because the truth interferes with their sin.
Our world is being shook to the core and all those who waffle regarding the truth will be led astray through delusion and follow the lie. The delusion says that Jesus is not the only way to eternal life. The delusion says that some people are born homosexual; that they are genetically formed that way. The delusion portrays a new morality that calls evil good and good evil. This is the working of Satan, an unrighteous deception, which will feed the minds of many.
Matthew 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
Our love of the truth must never grow cold and God forbid we should be lukewarm. We are to be “hot” and to fuel the fire of our faith anticipating the work of Christ in our everyday lives.
